Alt Bike Culture - 26'' for a 4'10'' girl!!!

lol...they got me a 26'' bike and I can't get on it :( ...i wanted to buy smaller rims and change the tires is that ok to do... I'm not sure exactly what size to buy for me or if its even possible...i was reading another thread but I dont know how to change cranks. Can someone help me? plz its a cruiser bike.

You should take the bike back to where it was bought, and exchange it for a bike with 24" wheels.

No, to answer your question, you cant change the wheels, the brakes won't work , the brakes have to hit the rim. (I'm assuming the bike has hand brakes).

Cranks are the same size, doesn't matter.

If the brakes aren't rim brakes, you could conceivably build up some 24" wheels. Spokes, rims and labor would likely cost about the same as the whole bike did, however. You'd need new custom fenders also. You'd likely wanna look for shorter cranks as well, to avoid massive pedal strike.

Is it a girls cruiser, with step-thru frame?

I'd probably take it back to store for exchange, also.

I think you should return the bike, try changing it for a folder, or maybe a 24" bike...I like small wheels with high psi... good luck

I'm only 5' 2", but I got a 700c bike that fits me pretty well.

I think that taking the bike back is the only reasonable solution. You need to go to the bike store where they can make sure you are fitted properly.
