Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Center mount pumps

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I only have one bottle cage mounted on my road bike on the down tube and have no plans to have a second bottle. Since the mounts on the seat tube are just crying to be used, does anyone know of any frame mounts that attach the pump inline with the seat tube as opposed to most pump mounts (to my limited knowledge) that attach pumps to the side to leave room for the water bottle.
This is primarily an aesthetic issue, but I also don't want to have my thighs rub against the pump on the seat tube.
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

My Topeak Morph pump mounts perpendicular to the tube. If you can't find anything, look at getting some Twofish Lock Blocks, which you can use.

As others have mentioned, the Topeak Road Morph mounts the way you want, and more importantly, is a great pump too!

I don't understand why Topeak ships the holder that replaces a water bottle cage instead of the one that sits beside it. Costs $5 to get the useful one.

You can use the one that it comes with, just use zip ties. I believe the instructions show an example of doing that.
Thanks to all for the info. I'll look in the Topeak pumps.

pump is narrow so it shouldn't interfere with your knees. I hang mine from the top tube. you might be able to mount to the seat tube but you may not need the water bottle screws. I use pclips/clamps to mout the pump hanger.

oh, also, does anyone switch bikes from time to time? i wish I had several mounts so all I had to do was snap te pump in instead of having to mount/install the pump mount all over again. I guess I can just buy multiple pumps like I am planning on buying multiple computers and saddles for the same reason

I got lucky with getting in touch with Blackburn and getting them to send me a mount (for a different bike), and it seems like some others have had luck with Topeak. So I would suggest getting in touch with the manufacturer and see if they'll send you a mount: can't hurt to ask.

I guess it depends on who you get, and on what day you call. I had to pay five bucks for mine. But Topeak has sent me so much free stuff in the past that I cannot complain. While I was able to secure the center style mount next to my bottle cage using the zip ties, I have to admit the bottle cage version works better (IMO).
