I had one of the worst bike repair experiences at 'DUMOULIN BIKES' on Villeray in Montreal. I was put on a waiting list for 1 week. I had brought my bike in that week and they had totally forgot about me and made me wait another week. When i went to pick it up on the day they said it would be ready they had hardly touched it and started working on it right then and there and told me that they would call me when it was ready which was suppose to be that day. They said to come back the next day and it would be finished. They e-mailed me after 2 more days telling me that they had to take a blow torch to my bike and asked if they should go head with that and that it would cost an extra 40 dollars. I asked what was the maximum I was expected to pay and they said absolute maximum would be $100. I told them to go ahead with it. They said that they would be finished in an hour. I waited for them to call but they didn't. I had to call them the next day and ask what was going on. So anyway I went in and got my bike. When they rang up the bill it was about $160. About three days later I was having the same problems. I brought it back and they fixed it and claimed they replaced a part that was nessesary. They charged me 15 bucks. Anyways i swallowed that cost and left with my bike fixed. About 2 days later the problems were back. I checked it out myself and it appeared to be my old part which they claimed they replaced and charged me another 15 bucks for. I feel so cheated, ripped off and angry but there is nothing I can do about it. so I want to warn the rest of you out there. Did anybody else have a terrible experience at this place or was it just bad luck?

This should have been your first clue to take your bike and run ... :thumb:

Tell us what the make and year of your bike and the details of the problem. When a shop replaces a part tell them to give you the old one. I ahve found Rossi in Lachine, McWhinnies in NDG, and Bicyclettes Tranquille in LaSalle to be very helpful.

For the West Island of Montreal I love cycles endurance on St Charles.
