when you get the new one: I put mine in an empty water bottle and cover it with 2 sandwich bags and secure with 2 rubber bands. it works great.
I sell and use Magicshine lights, I have to say they are bright. The mounting is easy but shakes around. I think it makes a better helmet mount then a bar mount.
Just got in the MS1000 and might have time to test it outdoors tonight.
I have tested it indooors and it is brighter then the 900.

Is this the one with the Cree xm-l?

It would be nice to have a side by side beam/shot comparison on a white wall at 10 feet distance.
Yes, the MJ-808E has the XM-L
Here is a pic 5-6 feet to white doors.

CEP - if you want to be helpful at BF, how about some proper beamshots on the road, at night, 30-100 feet, comparing MS900 to newer MS1000.
Otherwise, how about stopping the spamming (on zombie threads you've searched out, no less) just to bring attention to your light biz. I'm pretty sure this is against policy at BF.net.

I finally, after many years, upgraded from a "be seen" headlight to one that actually lights up the road ahead of me.
I recently picked up a Magic Shine MJ-836 on eBay (U.S. seller, custom_paintings) for $62.55 shipped to Texas. I bar mounted it and put the lithium pack in my Bento Box along with a spare tube.
I don't know if it really kicks out 900 lumens and have no way of testing it, but it throws enough beam that I don't anticipate out-riding it on a normal ride. We don't have many big hills around here, so 30-32mph max speed is pretty normal.
I like the glowing power switch that goes from green to red when the pack hits 25%. The mount has been fine so far.
It's quite a lot of light for under $65.
