News that was posted on the CR list. After speaking with Mike and Brian I got the go ahead to post here. Not sure if anyone would be interested in a purchase, but I know there are those interested in the news, building process, and of course the end result!

-----------------

Brian Baylis and Michael Howard the original Wizards are happy to announce
that they will be once again working together in a tribute to the legendary
Wizard Cycle Company's 35th Anniversary. As many of you know Mike and Brian
created Wizard Cycles back in 1974 as a spin-off from their work with the
original Masi Carlsbad crew. Only 85 of the original Wizards were built,
after which Baylis and Howard went back to take over production at the Masi
Plant. Since then Brian has built up a reputation as of one of the
undisputed top American builders while Mike was the lead framebuilder for
Medici Bicycle Company for 17+ years producing more top quality production
frames than almost any American builder.

"We are now proud to go full circle and excited to be working together again
on this project". Only ten "35th Anniversary Issue" frames will ever be
built so this will be a rare opportunity to get what will undoubtedly be a
classic collectors item and a wise investment. All frames will be built to
customers order as were the original Wizards. Baylis's legendary paint of
course with original Wizard decaling except for graphics denoting 35th
Anniversary and the number of the special issue. These lugged steel frames
will be silver brazed and jigged in the latest top of the line Anvil
Journeymen fixture to assure accuracy and alignment. Other than the hi-tech
fixture, they will be built with same old school techniques and materials as
the originals. If you have ever seen one of the originals you know what a
treasure they are.

This announcement is going out to the "Classic Rendezvous" list first to
give the members here the first shot at the ten slots available. We are both
very involved with this group and would love to have the Wizards stay in the
family so to speak. Interested parties please contact Brian or Mike off list
with any questions or comments.

New floors and counters at the house... or a Wizard 35th frameset... one way I get to continue living in my house, the other I might as well tell Mike & Brian to deliver my frame to the nearest freeway overpass where I'll be living. "Roughing it" sounds mighty tempting...
