Was it a Nathan's or was it a euphemism?
Yum - Zweigles with your ball park mustard on them - delicious.
Grilled, all beef frank, on a toasted bun, with yellow mustard, relish, chili, cheese. Or with brown mustard and sour kraut. Toss in a few sweet pickles on the side, some fritos corn chips and a nice mug of root beer you have a meal fit for the king of white trash, a title to which I aspire.
Even kittehs like hot dogs.

The hot dog I ate was from a local joint called Franktuary. http://www.franktuary.com/
The cows that it came from lived on an organic farm. Pretty good hot dog folks.

best dogs come off the grill in the backyard.....cooked till close to burnt, then covered with chilli and cheese, onions if you like them, and jalepenos!
Once upon a time I lived in Hermosillo, Mexico. For 10 pesos (about a buck) you could get a Sonoran Hot Dog. OMG fantastic.
The Sonoran hot dog, found in Tucson, Metro Phoenix, and in neighboring Sonora, Mexico, is a hot dog grilled in a processor or on a griddle, wrapped in Mesquite-smoked bacon, topped with freshly-chopped tomatoes, onions, shredded yellow or cotijo cheese, tomatillo salsa or red chile sauce, pinto beans, mayonnaise, ketchup and/or mustard, and served on bread. Often served with a fresh-roasted chile.

And the #1 rule of Chicago hot dogs.... NO KETCHUP.
The hotdog will repel the ketchup with the strength of the highest powered electromagnets.
Tomatoes > ketchup on a Chicago dog.

You and I see eye to eye on pickles. They are disgusting.

Yup! Ketchup is for the devil!
There is another shop here in Pittsburgh that serves Chicago dogs. It's kind of a drive from where I work but I go at least once a month. He changed the relish one day and I went ballistic. It has to be florescent green or it throws off the experience.

I am not kidding, we are a foam molder and we made "buns" and "mustard" and "ketchup" for a company making pet costumes. I can post pics of the molds if need be. Can probably even dig up a bun or some mustard or ketchup even.

Does this mean you have access to foam "buns, mustard, and ketchup" for your own personal use? :innocent:

not really, but I might be able to dig one up. We ran them under a private label for someone else and never sold them under our company name.

This is like saying New York strip is the only steak worth eating. Sure, it's good sometimes, but why limit yourself to an inferior cut?

Mmm...Nathan's cheddar dog on a whole wheat bun with Jack Daniels mustard. Pickles and pickle products aren't allowed in the same room with my hot dog. And ketchup is for fries.

I went to the $1 Hot Dog Night at the Texas Rangers Ballpark this past Wednesday.
I bought five and ate four and a half. They weren't very good but I was pretty hungry after a 40 miler earlier in the day.
I don't remember the last good hot dog I had. :(

lol, this is about the only reason why I stop by 7-11 often. cheap hotdog with free toppers so I always end up craving 2 big bite with chili, cheese, and jalapeno mounded on top of it. sometime I includes onion and hot sauce :)
I'm a bit of a hot dog addict. I remember a few years ago i almost ate hotdog every single day that summer between school year. probably going to eat hotdog most of the time in school now that gallaudet uni serves them in the cafeteria :)

Mmmm. Tube of squished lips and ears. I like mine topped with spicy mustard, jalapenos, pickles, green olives, onions and sauerkraut.
Best hotdogs and sausages are to be had by the hotdog vendor that sits in front of the Home Depot hardware store on Wheatland Rd. I go there just for the hotdogs...and pick up batteries for my bikelights.

Somehow, I don't think the tasty Zweigle's hots I will be cooking for supper will taste as good now .... :D
BUT - mustard - Just mustard on mine is preferable.
Ate at CribDogs - NYC last year - had a bacon wrapped deep fried hot dog (they make their own) that was quite nice - but I'm just not someone with all the stuff on them. Just mustard.
