Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - It only took 4 days

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's official. I've gone crazy, or at least stir crazy. :twitchy:
It's been four days since I was sentenced to what is effectively bed rest for the fracture. I'm going nuts and spending way too much time surfing eBay, Craigslist, and PBK.
A person can only sleep so much.

I'm sorry, I missed the whole story. What did you fracture? Give the gory details.
STAY AWAY from Competitive Cyclist, Performance and Nashbar.... go broke hanging on those sites.

Well, the sad, sad tale's beginnings can be found here http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=558221 It's intertwined with fellow forum member Jtgyk's adventures on the day before the 4th of July when we had a ride planned.
The continuinig intertwined saga http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=566582
And pretty much a summary of the last couple of weeks http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=573031
Short, and less humorous, version is I managed to fracture my right femur under my knee cap, and do some soft tissue damage.

Heh, I'm eyeballing a Fetish frame set and fork on the local Craigslist and a Veloce group on Ribblecycles.UK. The only saving me is the possible looming co-pay for surgery.......... The Fetish frameset and fork are very very tempting though:love:

The cross bike is sadly on the back burner. Bad knees and the proper terrain and use of the bike are not the best match. That doesn't mean I don't still want one, but it would have to act like a road bike for quite some time :(
