Hi,
Maybe this is a dumb question, but the wetsuit I'll be using for my first Tri has a long lanyard on the zipper to help get it on and off. My question is, what do I do with the lanyard when I have the suit fully on? Do I just let it hang loose from the back? It seems like it could get caught in something. Maybe it goes inside the suit??? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I let it hang. What exactly would it get caught in? there is not much besides other people, but i suppose they could try to eat it...
Mine has a little velcro tab that lets you sandwich it in between the velcro at the top of the zipper. Just shortens it to a half loop.
The problem with tucking it in is that, conceivably, it could work itself all way in. Then you'd never be able to find it when you got to T1.

If someone tries to eat my wetsuit, lanyard first. It will be my first and last triathlon ;)

I let it hang... 2 years of tris and training and never had an issue.

I have a entry level Neosport with velcro on the end of the lanyard and at the base of the zipper. When zipped up, the lanyard end attaches to the base or the zipper with the velcro to prevent "flappage" and being eaten  .
Good luck with your first tri.

Tie it around your neck really tight so it won't get loose. That way if you get a nose bleed your tourniquet is already in place.
