I haven't had much time lately, Finally got the day off of work today so I figured I'd share some pictures.

To my disappointment however, many of the pictures from my muddy day ride have dissapeared because of computer problems...
So no pictures of the dirty Dawg.:(
I am taking photos form 3 different rides (to the same place however) and combining them into 1 sideshow, just to make things easy.

I have a new "quick ride" I do. I ride up the mountain to this Castle, (Hohenecan castle) (Sp)
spend a few minutes up there admiring, then bomb down the mountain.
It's a long, steep climb up, but fun to come down.
The attached files are informative signs, I'd read them got some cool info.

I am still trying to find some awesome single track, but it's not going to happen anytime soon... crazy folks out in the woods lol.:twitchy::eek:

Well here you go. If you have any questions about any of the pictures please feel free to ask. I know a Tad about this castle.

-I know these can't compare to the spectacular single track and awesome free-ride/down hill photos some of Y'all have... but for scenery, Castle has to have some points lol.

It's very peaceful up here and I enjoy looking down the slope. I can't help but to try and imagine the activity that happened around and in this castle. I walked up the original path to the castle one day, it's got the old, uneven sandstone bricks here and there, and it's just wide/steep enough that a horse/buggy could make it up. The old Travelers well is also located on that path. It's got the same construction as the castle does, so I believe they are related. The metal pipe was inserted to preserve it I believe. Water still trickles out of the pipe, but how clean it is IDK. The castle used to have it's own working well, so Maybe at one point it tapped out of it. Just behind the "Klein Trinkwasser" is an old brick structure, but I cant make out what it is. There is a gap in the wall, and it just goes straight down into the side of the MTN. I haven't looked down into it, scared of what I may find lol. It's set back into to side of the mountain.

I just wish I could of seen this castle before the French Completly destroyed it...

Any time guys.
Wish I could get some good trail photos.
Maybe next time I go out to the Nanstein Burg, (another castle) Ill bring a camera and they got some short dead ended decent trails. Problem is, riding alone or w/o someone who knows the area is bad. real bad.

If y'all like castles I went to the Heidelburg Castle, it's one of the more famous castles. It's HUGE! I didn't ride there or anything, just visited, I can post some pictures for your viewing pleasure later on. It's a rather remarkable castle, and its like 89% still intact. We walked around all over the inside and the old pharmacy, still got the original beer/wine barrels (bigger than a house) inside it and such.

I've taken an interest in Castles nows.

Surprisingly, they have a grate over that one, and it looks like it's been rebuilt at one point as its all collapsed and filled in on the inside.

This castle saw some combat, and was later destroyed by the French.
I am kinda sore about the French destroying it, as it could still be very well intact and some of the rooms could still be there. Now, I walk around an empty, rubble filled shell, imagining what it might of looked/sounded and felt like back in the 1200's.
(I try not to imagine the smell... hahah)
