Sheer madness, yes.

R20 using 58t x 14t with 406 wheels, hilly terrain, 5:40am start, -2C.....I did it Sat 22nd.

Time: 6 1/4 hrs, not brilliant but considering the limitations of a SS, I'm happy. Really needed a lower gear for climbing and higher gear for descending and fast flats, maybe use one of my old 3 spd SA hubs next time?

R20s are fun

Wow is right. 6:15 for a century on a single speed in hilly terrain is nothing to sneeze at!

Alas, no.
I did try to find some shots on the 'net of Mt Franklin and Daylesford in Victoria, but not much there.

This course was one I sometimes used for training when road racing, I have done it under 6 hrs...but that was on a good roadie.....I was younger, more vain and had muscular shaved legs!!

I am not worthy. I could only manage 6½ hours on my century on the weekend. And I was on a moderatly aero recumbent with 27 gears.

Biggest Campagnolo-compatible I could find was 55 t

Biggest Campagnolo-compatible I could find was 55 t

The current set up is temporary until I make up a 7 cog cluster out of a 9 spd block, add a 52t or 48t inner ring and get this baby to really rock 'n roll.

My "lucky to be on eBay at the right time" 58t has no brand name on it, just "11058A" and "Made in USA", however TA Specialise France make chain rings of all different sizes, I believe Greenspeed stock them, they're not cheap.

Depending on how the final set up goes I might look for a 60t if I need more top end speed.

Been thinking about a 1200km ride on this bike..........:eek:
