Is anyone else making the plan to go? I am definitely going this year. For anyone that's gone in the past, what is the Interbike Outdoor Demo about? Are they planning on letting participants ride the bikes being shown at the expo? Are the "meaty" days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday? What are the best days to go? I'll be at that party for sure, but I wonder if it's worth it to come for Wed- Fri, or just go Wed and Thur and then head back home. Are hotels expensive out there? Are there any reasonably priced to cheap hotels that are walking distance from the expo? I'd like to book my hotels asap.
Thanks!

neat, sounds like a good reason to make a road trip :D
Never been to a bike show... sounds like a great idea! I can answer your hotel question: Hotel rooms are abundant and relatively cheap. They make their money on gambling. Food is also very cheap.

Dont get your hopes up guys, interbike is a industry-only bike show.

So who's producing the fake credentials? :o ;) hehe
I already have my tickets from an industry insider. I just need to figure out the minute details. Besides, can't you just go to your LBS and use them to get the tickets to get into the show?

Koffee,
I have been attending interbike for several years now and I highly recommend going if you have the chance. The expo and demo days are largely an industry only event, meaning that consumers are a rarity. Most attendees are bike shop employees or employees of bike companies. They tend to keep a pretty tight leash on the attendance because after all it is centered around educating dealers and selling them their product. Be prepared to be handled a little differently than the industry folk, your badge will probably identify you as a consumer, but you should still be able to score plenty of free crap. I highly recommend the dirt demo days as there are tons of manufacturers that bring out new product for test riding in real conditions. These are biased towards mountain biking since the demo is at the local mountain bike trail area but there is normally a very short road loop available for road bikes. Attendance at the expo is obviously highest the first couple of days and then drops off, we can't keep all the bike shops in America closed for too long right?

i might be going this year...but probably not, since i'll most likely have to work.
i think the only folks going from my shop are the owners.
*le sigh*
Thanks to everyone for the advice. I emailed my contacts and told them I didn't just want to go to the party, I wanted to attend the show! I asked for tickets. What's the worst that would happen, they would say no? We'll see.
I really want to go now- I like being part of something I have no business seeing! :D ;)

koffee... u might want to check www.hotels.com they have some reasonable priced hotels. the ones u want to look for that is close to those conventions are: Circus Circus & Flamingo. There might be more.. but normally when i go there for the CES show, i stayed at those places. Circus Circus is very good.. cuz its really near the LAS convention. However, to get to SANDS, you might want to drive or take a taxi. i wish i can go.. but since i'm going there to do the show in Jan 6th - 9th... i'll think i'll pass. but if possible, can you take some pics? would like to see what that convention is like. thanks!

Unless it's the same time as the porno convention it's a total waste of time :)
