We are planning a small trip cycling along some portion of the Route Verte. There will be 2 adults and a 9 year old and we hope to camp each night and bike about 20-30km/day for about 4 days.

We are still waiting on our guide book to arrive and wonder if anyone can give us some good advice on the best portion of the the Route to suit our needs.

We hope to see the Saint Lawrence and we hope to stop afterwards to enjoy 2 or 3 nights in Quebec City so proximity to this would be good.

Can anyone tell me their experience or advice in this regard?

Thanks so much,
Annie

http://www.velo.qc.ca/rv/index_e.php?code=chaudiere-appalaches I recommend taking the south shore of the river going NE from Levis. There are lots of interesting villages along the route, it is a along the road but the parallel expressway will attract all the fast traffic. There are many wood carvers at St-Jean-Port-Joli. There is also an interesting maritime museum with a lot about Captain Bernier the arctic explorer and a hydrofoil ship on which I worked 40 yrs ago.
