I'm sorry to hear of this. After driving through the Monument in 2003 I thought it would be a great ride someday. Still plan to do it.

At any given time there can be sand or other debris on that road. Those turns on the East side are 180º and some attention and speed management is required. I'm very sorry for this cyclist's family.
This is so sad. We need to enjoy every moment of our lives because...you never know.

Very sad to hear of this. We live part time in the Redlands and ride it almost daily while there.
There was the local fellow last year who crashed and died between the Little Park/Glade Park Junction and the Monument but I guess that was just outside the park boundary? Take care all.

Oh my gosh...it's on my list of "someday" rides, also. So sorry to hear this. Condolences to family and friends.
