If it's through BikesDirect, you will need to either be a pro-level bike-mechanic, or hire one (take it to your LBS) to properly assemble it. If you'd be buying off the internet, factor this into your true cost: You'll have no warranty to fall back on if & when something goes out of adjustment, or breaks, or simply needs a tune-up.

I can't, in all honesty, endorse people buying these Chinese bikes made with the names of out-of-business bike makers from Europe - Unless you are a skilled bike-mechanic that has built-up bicycles from the bare frame before.

Caveat Emptor.

Personally I wouldn't order a bike on-line as it is a very personal choice about the fit. Kind of hard to ride one on-line.

Although if you know your frame size and what you want on it then on-line might be a more attractive option.

A quick google search will turn up quite a lot on the make and model. I looked at a Trek 7.3, a Specialized Sirrus, a Giant FCR and a Giant Cyprus DX.

Honestly I found all 4 to be quite nice, but ended up getting the Trek 7.3 FX because I liked the personnel at this particular LBS better than the others and Trek's frame warranty can't be beat.
