I wouldn't care. I have a few team jerseys...
Personally, I wouldn't wear an RR jersey though. The team is basically collective of dopers who got dropped from other teams after getting caught. :innocent:

they are also extremely $$$ "designer" kits, so if you like that get it.

Why even think about it? Buy what you want and wear what you want. Half the time, I ride by other riders so fast, I have no idea what they were wearing anyways... It is just a blur...

The only place it would be inappropriate is in certain group rides, depending on the culture of the group, and in a race. USAC has rules for that, lol.
Other than that, if you want it, go for it. I'm not much on current team kits for myself, but I would love to have some older kits from long defunct teams. I do admit if I were Diabetic I would so be rocking a Team Type 1 kit.
Many roadies have strong feelings on the subject of recreational riders wearing pro team kit. I had a friend say he'd stop riding with me when I mentioned buying a Discovery team jersey. He thought it was in poor taste for a recreational rider and doubly so for an out of shape guy.

Were his bibs in a bunch? Maybe he grabbed the wrong tube when he was putting on his chamois cream?

You should only care if you:
a) care what other people think, or
b) care about the image you project.
