Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well, I had toe surgery today, and so I am completely off the bike for probably a month.
I am getting rid of my Allez so that I am not tempted to go out there and hop on it for a ride.
I CANNOT wait until I can get back on two wheels (I will pickup my Cervelo about the time that I can start riding again).

I feel your pain. Well, not toe pain, but being forced off the bike is a real pain. It ends eventually, I hope.

Clipless pedals/shoes and pedal with just the good foot!

yeah...I have clipless, but my doc is more concerned about hitting and damaging the repaired digit.
I also have a hard-soled walking boot (happen to work for the manfacturer), and the doc was not real happy when I mentioned putting a cleat on the bottom so that I could ride.

Take it easy, and let yourself heal well. I hope you recover quickly and fully.

Don't get rid of your Allez, just have a friend keep the wheels for you for a Month, or until your Dr releases you. ;)

Allez is already gone, but that was the plan all along. Just doing it now means that I am not tempted (although with the way my foot feels, I am not really tempted...but I would much rather be on a bike than sitting behind my desk fighting the pain pill loopies...).
I should get the Cervelo in 3 weeks, and my new Cyclocross bike (for commuting) a week or so after that.
