I know there's been some discussion of this... for a variety of reasons (out of towners to squire, disgusting weather) I was off my bike for 10 days. Did my first ride yesterday... oh boy. There a short but steep hill that I seemed to swallow up and not be totally drained at the top. There was this one flat stretch that I used to ride 15-16 at best that I had it pegged over 17. Never went that fast for that long.
Yes, there was a very small amount of tailwind. Not much as coming back I was doing 13-14-15... where I'd typically do 12 with strong headwinds.
While I was off, I did some 2 miles power walks. The really odd thing was the day before yesterday, I had some tightness in my quads... something I never have had in power walks.
I figure it kinda like the bye week in football, time to rest up sore muscles. The run I did yesterday I could only manage an average around 11 2 1/2 months ago... yesterday it was 14.0.
