I recently fell at the pool and injured soft/tissue is my guess and my main commuter is a ss/fg until I fully recover I have lowered my seat flipped to freewheel is there any other suggestions for maiking biking less painful. The reason for lowering the seat is to make it easier to get my leg over the bike.
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!
If my back hurts, I find spinning rather than mashing pedals helps a lot. Stopping at lights is a pain too... I try to stay in an easy gear for starting off... I don't know how you do that on a SS/FG. Get a smaller ring?

didn't think about raising the handle bars will do that tommorow. My freewheel is 16 instead of a 15 fixed but I am pushing with a 48 on the front. I can take my geared bike but it would be left out in a sketchy area right across the street from crack dealers and crack heads and really don't like leaving it out since it costs considerably more.
