Foo - Smoke 'em if you got 'em

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I used to too. Taking up bike riding was my reward to myself for quitting.

I quit 3 months ago..
every time I ride, I'm reminded that I have just recently quit...hopefully that feeling in my chest will go away...either way..Sasha, my bike..keeps me from ever going back
No! Used to smoke cigars on game nights at my brothers but I don't do that anymore.

I'm coming up on two years. two packs a day + = some $5,000.00 saved but 7,000 spent on gum and candy... But hell I'm fifty and can pull 45+ miles every Sunday morning.... In Pittsburgh!

Good for you!!
So, it will get easier on my chest then??? Sometimes when I get to the top of a big ass hill, it just ******** hurts to breathe..but like I said..it's only been 3 months since I quit...
I smoke a good pack and 1/2 a day for 17 years...I guess I need to have a little patience ...

Quit seven years ago last March. Never thought I could, but after forty-something years, finally decided it was time.
Had a physical exam a couple of years ago, the doc couldn't believe I had been a smoker, no apparent damage. Hopefully, I've dodged the bullet.

-1. Drugs are fail. Epic fail.
I have never smoked...*anything.* I grew up with a smoker (my mother) so I've had pneumonia, bronchitis multiple times and last summer, bacterial bronchitis. I have Asthma "Lite" too. I may as well ride my bike in front of a dump truck than smoke, it'd be slightly faster. :p

My dad was a heavy smoker and he smoked inside the house. he didn't believe in that "smoking outside of his own castle" BS. I've constantly battled bronchitis but I think bicycling has helped. The flu didn't even get me this year and I've always been a yearly subscriber.

Listen people - we have a serious World overpopulation problem brewing, and I don't see any of you doing something to stop it!
