Mountain Biking - Information on a timberline GT
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi new to mountain bikes, been in to road bikes for a while. I picked up a Timberline GT frame with a KHS crmo fork. The frame says hand built in the USA. Can someone give me some info on the frame? It seems pretty stout. Is it worth building up?
If it has a ridged fork, which from your post sounds like a older bike. Not that it is a bad thing, but may be hard to find parts for. You really need to post more info on the bike. Do you know what year it is? Also any pics you can post would help. GT has made some sweet bikes over the years.
Yes it is a ridged fork. If I get a chance today, I will post up a couple of pics. I have no idea what year it is. The frame is red, I could get serial numbers if they are of any use. The top horizontal tube sticks out past the seat post tube. It has GT on the end.
