That's probably the best entry-level offering I've seen in CX.

Does anyone know frame weight/ or complete bike weight?

Are you buying the bike or selling it?

"Crapphy iPhone pics of a print ad I saw for the new Raleigh RX 1.0. Looks like a nice spec." on the Flikr page, so just looks like a FYI to me..

That's not his Flickr stream - it's mine. I think we're all just being bike nerds and talking about an upcoming bike, not breaking forums rules and trying to sell something outside of the market area.

I don't know Jake is less $ with better wheels and more or less the same frank and fork, granted the shifters/derailleurs are not quite the same spec

Not trying to steal your thunder just spreading the stuff. Hope you do not mind.

The Jake has a steel fork with a lot crappier parts. This would ride more like the snake in my opinion. The 1.0 has a full Rival train, while the jake has sora and tiagra drive, I am going to buy the 1.0 this season and will purchase a set of tubular wheels then swap the parts over to a new scandium frame next year. For the 1.0 I would upgrade the wheelset, saddle, brakepads to kool, and call it good.

The BB30 is a nice upgrade as well. They are quite stiff, at least my Cannondale is stiff.

That is really good for the price.

No thunder there to be stolen, the thread just seemed to be going down a confusing path and I wanted to make a few things clear so we could go back to talking about bikes in peace. ;)

Mine is already on order. The shop I work in picked up Raleigh last year. SWEEET! It is the best entry cross bike on the market without a doubt.

p.s. I posted the stock photo of the bike in the post your cross bike thread a few weeks ago...

This Raleigh really appeals to me.

I'm having a terrible time finding a cross bike of any kind to test ride. No one around here stocks them, let alone in my size, and dealers don't want to order something I may not buy (understandable). But I've been to something like nine LBSs in town and rode all two cross bikes anyone had, neither in my size anyway. I just wanted a feel for what that model would be like. They're all last year's stuff anyway.

My Axis was in an accident and I wanted to upgrade a bit with the new bike. Just can't find one.

Is it just a matter of ordering it sight unseen? I really love the idea of this Raleigh but afraid it won't be right for me somehow. sigh

One shop has a very large bike selection but doesn't plan to order any more cross bikes because they don't sell. Instead they have fifteen blue Pistas...

I was on the same boat as you. No LBS in Los Angeles carries cross bikes, so I had to source the frame through eBay and then the group through a BF member. I took a risk on buying something I couldn't test out. Going to race it this weekend, so hopefully it will be pretty close to what I *should* be riding.

I've been looking to get into cross after 3 years of piddling. We just started carrying GT, and I'm not a Giant fan anymore. I just checked out the Raleigh today, and I'm ordering one in the coming days. Awesome deal, especially at EP.

One of you guys needs to post up some non-manufacturer pics, I'm anxious to see this even though I just got a new Salsa. ;-)

previous models included the ec90 fork. I guess they downgraded that to upgrade shifters and BB.

It was BB30 last year, but they ran Tiagra. It be interesting to know what the price difference would have been if they kept the EC90. I imagine the bike would have still been less than $1400, which still would have made it an excellent bargain.

I must have been looking at an 08 model. It was priced at $1100 if I remember correctly.

I think the 08 was yellow, and the 09 red

i think the 08 was offered in both yellow and blue. The one I was looking was blue.

They also did this bike in 07' in a blue

as nice as most of the component spec is the frames are a bit hefty, but I guess you cant have everything at this price point.

Guys, I just checked today since I want to EP a RX 1.0. Raleigh has NONE. They sold out of their first batch of them within a week, and they will not have any more coming stateside until JANUARY!

If your shop doesn't have an RX 1.0 in stock or currently in transit, then you're not getting one this season.
