Out for a quick 50 miler today for training purposes and I was having a great solo ride which I rarely do as I like riding with others but on ocassion I'll go out just with me. Well today I was going down a section of road everyone in the area uses as their big ring small cog training grounds. Real long stight section with very minimal rises and an average elevation lose of about 2% and today it had a tailwind whoohoo. Well I come over a hill and see a bike in the distance like about 1.5 to 2 km. I think well I'm felling pretty good today lets see if I can catch it. Well I gained early on him then you could see the guy turn and he sees me and the game is on. I finally caught him HR at 190bpm but feel great especially when he congatulates me. He said I thought there was no way you could catch me you were so far behind. Anyway we ride together for about 2k then shake hands at stop light and go our own ways. Was a pretty good rush.

That's right!:D.......Of course eventhough you know he was participatin' in a little friendly comp with you, someone will say, "it's nice to beat someone that didn't know you were racing".
90% of the folks I meet on rides, wimmins included will engage in some sort of friendly competition.;)
Atleast the guy had the nards to congratulate and acknowledge you!:thumb:...Every rider I pass is getting over the 6 month flu or hasn't been on the bike in 15 years!:p

I didn't really put it on till I saw him looking back and standing, then it was game on! And yes I understand I don't know what kind of ride or length of ride he was on. I do know it sure as hell was no recovery ride. It was cool when he realized I was going to catch him, it was just before a little rise, he jumped out of saddle again then imediately sat down with a little head shake. Yes it's easy to win a race when the other guy dosen't know it was a race but I thiink this guy knew what was happening.

Today, I did get a skinny of my own. He was a 90 yo dude on an mtb, didn't know what was going on but I kicked the snot out of him anyways!:p
Hardly anybody out there today so I figured I'd tackle this hill that I've been eyeballin' for a couple of years. Never rode it cause it's out of the way of my usual course. That and it looks big!:D...Today I cut my ride short then headed back early only to hit this monster at 20 miles in.
I had scoped it out before in my truck but only ever seen 2 other riders on it but they were zigzagging their way up. I went for it! I am happy to say I rode straight up but understand why they were ZZ'ing.:p......And I was struggling to hold 4 mph at the top. It's only about a mile long but the further up you get, the steeper it becomes!. I tried to kick the snot out of it but didn't. Next time!:thumb:

So if the Type-A racer guys call getting passed by a woman being "chicked", what do they call it when they get dropped by a Clyde? (aside from "embarassing"?)

Usually out Baseline to Glendora, come back on Gladstone to Bonita Ave then back up to Baseline home.. Sometimes I see REDAL riding at night when I am out..
Depending on how I feel usually 25-35 miles.. I prefer riding at night over fighting traffic at 6pm when I get home..
I haven't been up Archibald in a while, I also like riding all the way up Daycreek to where the dirt trail starts..
