Yes ,that can happen to any of us.
I did something silly driving from Rockford to our meeting in GSC.
We stayed at a fine hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska. At Breakfast I overindulged in things with sugar such as pancakes, syrup, cereal, donuts and coffee with sugar.
As we were driving about one hour later, I feel as if I was free falling and had to pull to the side of the Expressway. A terrible feeling and could have caused an accident.
This happened to me before so I knew what to do. Drink lots of water and eat some dry bread.
Same thing on the Colorado National Monument bike tour would be deadly.
We are what we eat.

An update to my post above.
We arrived in Breckenridge, CO Yesterday. This is a ski resort town pretty high up there.
To check my engine for proper operation I went for a hard ride today. Breckenridge to Frisco and on to Vail Pass. Round trip is about 45 miles and the first leg mostly uphill and headwind. I found a few serious bikers to bike with.
Everything is fine with my engine. Stress Test to HR 155 with no ill effect.
I needed that assurance after the dizzy spell on the Freeway. That was not nice but I know how bad a high sugar BF can be for me. Trouble is that many BF in motels are lousy. Not much to choose there. Same problem on the CC tour.
Had a Denver Omelet in Breckenridge this AM plus some Gel and Energy Bars. That worked.
Nutrition is important I think.
Hey Will, how do you sleep when you have a lot of sugar. I'm as bad as you and when I take in that much, I cant sleep worth the damn. Everytime I try and get off of it, I come back twice as bad.

Yes, it is a problem. Perhaps sleep 50% only.
I avoid this if I can by watching sugar intake. I slip when traveling and eat FREE breakfast in motels.
No problem if I eat at home or a paid BF.
My brain does not always work right.:o
