Introductions - Hello from Adelaide, Australia

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi everyone, especially Allister and Chris L in Queensland. I have been a lost soul since The Bicycle Forum closed down last year.
Anyhow I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Male, 31, married (happily too). I'm a roadie, I use to ride MTB, but most of the good trails are now closed to bikes. I ride a Giant CFR1 Ultegra, and a Cannondale M900 MTB rigid with slicks. I generally ride the road bike for the speed, but I ride the MTB when I want a more relaxed ride or when it's wet. I normally ride after work during summer, and ride to work in winter when it's dark by 5.30pm.
That's about it for now, CHEERS.

Hey Dutchy. Where have you been all this time? Anyway, glad we've got another Aussie on board.
What ever came of your little encounter at the roundabout last year?
Yes I got terribly lost. I actually registered in September 2001 but forgot my login, and never bothered to
ask about it. Then Joe Gardner sent me an e-mail asking why I hadn't made any posts.
So I was lost, now I am found.
Hey Chris, how are things down here? Let's see, yesterday was 38ºC today is 23ºC I all I want is 1 week of constant weather.
It's good to see some familiar names on the board.
CHEERS.

Hi Allister,
Long time, no chat. You have a good memory. How are you?
Well you can probably guess what happened. I filled a report to the police, who were very nice about the whole thing.
I then sent the driver a bill for a whopping $75.00 to pay for my bent rim and for the shop to check the frame,
and he never responded to my request for payment. I had thought about contacting the guy directly on the phone
or maybe sending him a sarcastic Christmas card saying something like :
Have a merry Christmas, I won't cause my bike is still a wreck A**HOLE.
Then I thought stuff it. He will never pay and it isn't worth pursuing in the courts, considering I was riding 1 week later.
So you live and learn. Next time I should punch the guy in his stupid head. It won't help the situation but at least he
can then share some of my pain :-)

We've had about 5 months of constant weather. Constantly stinkin' hot and humid. I envy you, dude.

Sadly, none of that surprises me. I'm not sure if I'd have done things much differently. Still, it's frustrating.
So, you have his address though? Sounds like a bit of '2 bob detailing' could be in order.

Oh how I've felt that way many a time. I thought that we were all supposed to get along as fellow humans. I bet the guy doesn't lose any sleep over your damaged bike. What a loser.
