So, being a full time socal resident now with family in central florida I need to make a visit back home to see some family. I am thinking of hitting a race while in town and this fits into my schedule. I am guessing that crit is flat. What about the road race? I've never ridden in that area, but I assume nothing more then some rollers? And what are fields like? I'll be racing in the 3's. I am used to a full field, 100 or so riders at a lot of the races out here. What can I expect there? Thanks in advance for any info.

Interesting, I am not a racer but do a lot of riding in this area and wasn't aware they had these planned. Unfortunately I will be out of town (Cycle North Carolina Tour), but these look like good races. There is a charity ride (tour) associated with Miles for Hope that is a good ride for those that like charity rides. It appears these races are associated so that is a good thing for the charity.

The crit course is on a bluff overlooking Clearwater Harbor. That provides for a hill to climb each lap, probably a max 50' elevation change. The San Antonio race is located where all of us 'flatlanders' go to ride 'hills'. It is a rolling hill area with some short climbs. All the local racers will know that course very well.

I can't comment on the size of the fields, perhaps some of the racing crowd can fill you in.

Just looked at there flyer and I might be interested in the 100K tour but there is very little information about it. Does anyone know which day and cost details. Of did I just completely miss it.
perhaps Miles for hope has a web site. I will give it a try.

Here is the link to the Miles for Hope homepage. They are doing a lot of good work for Brain Cancer support. I rode in the first ride last year and it was very well done, especially for a first ride: http://milesforhope.org/

I will also take a moment to plug my club's annual charity ride in the same area, but on November 15th: http://www.mdachallenge.com/

Not sure of the cirt route, but the Miles for Hope route will take the Clearwater and Sandkey bridges on it's route, so there will be some "Florida hills" involved in that route. The St Joe area has some rolling hills in it, but again, not sure of the exact routes they're using. Either way, both should be some good rides.
