Anybody coming here for the Tour of Sebring Event on Labor day weekend. You can check it out at the Kenilworth Lodge Website. Our local club will be painting markings on the roads this week. Nice rides fully supported with rest stops and safe roads. Rides from 14 miles to 100 miles Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Yes. Many of us will be coming up from the Sarasota/Bradenton area. We love this ride... good hills, nice scenery and great volunteers at the stops. Unfortunately, this year we have a lot going on for Labor Day weekend and can only ride the metric on Sat. Also, we enjoy hiking through the Highland Hammocks State Park (be sure and take bug spray.)

The Kenilworth Lodge usually fills up early and we stay at the Inn on the Lake.

Looking forward to a great ride!

I live near the Park and ride there often. One of the best restaurants in town is Chicanes at the Inn on the Lakes. I may have to work Saturday Morning but I'm riding the metric on Sunday.

Wife, kids, and I are heading up tomorrow afternoon from Palm Beach. This is our first time and have been looking forward to it for weeks. We are staying in the lodge.

I'm going to do my first metric century during this trip, although haven't decided which day it will be. The hills comment above has me a bit nervous. :)

Did you get your metric done? I did a metric on Sunday and tried to do another today, but just didn't have enough juice in the tank. 132 miles in 3 days, met new people and had a great time. It can't be much better than that:lol:

I did! Completed it on Sunday, 4.5 hours with about an hour of it being rest stops. I did not expect all the hills! I didn't think Florida had that many hills. :) But it was a great time. Family enjoyed the weekend and did really well in the poker rides.

The event was well organized and we met a lot of new people as well. We are all looking forward to next year.

I'm glad to hear the event was a sucessful one for you. I wanted to go out today as I heard the park was a really nice ride, but I was pretty whipped and enjoyed sleeping in.

Next time we'll have to organize a meet and greet for the folks on the forums!

Sounds as if this is a great ride, makes me wish I were their. WhiskeySmack what average speed did you have?? I will have to put this on my list for next year.

My average speed including rest stops was about 14mph, without counting rest stops was 18mph. Not sure which is the appropriate number to cite. I'm a 265lb Clyde, so I'm happy with that for my first attempt, especially with the hills in this route. I heard the route on Sat and Monday were much flatter.
