Hey guys (and ladies)

New rider here from Maine. Had a bike for about 6 years, but just starting to really get into biking over the past month or so. i am 27 and live in Maine, i have a 2003 Gary Fisher Marlin hardtail, and starting to get into alot of riding. Unfortunately i do ride mostly on the road which doesnt fit my style of bike, but i make the most of it. i was thinking of getting different tires to see if that would improve anything, because i can't afford a new ride right now, but im open to any and all suggestions regarding riding, styles, mechanic work, and anything else.....:D

Two years ago the Trek Across Maine ended at Owl's Head, and I seem to remember passing through Union.

!.5" slick tires would give you more speed on the road for a modest price. Then, if your feet cant keep up with the pedals you could change the chainrings to 48-36-24, but that would be more expensive (would require moving front der up and maybe new chain and cassette).

top, yeah you probably did pass through union if you came down route 17, or you surely passed through rockland, because its borders on owls head......

andrew, im new to this whole "buying parts" thing....i am mechanically inclined, so im gonna read/watch youtube and do any work myself, but where is a good site to check prices or to buy stuff? im gonna go to my local sporting goods place today, but i don't want to get ripped off.....
