Hi all! Just found bikeforums.net. Great site! I'm a long time avid recreational and commuter cyclist. I've done a few of those MDA type charity rides but no serious touring. I currently ride a 1996 Cannondale H300 hybrid that I bought new. It's been my primary bike for 13 years. It's been a terrific bike for commuting (27 miles roundtrip), recreational toodling and fitness riding. I love it!
Believe it or not, it's had the original tires until today! (which is why I'm here). IRC GripGlides to be exact. 700x38c. Great all-around tire. The Florida humidity just took its toll on them. So today I discovered a bike shop I hadn't heard of and went to check out their tires. Turns out they are going out of business and everything was 50% off. Not much left but they just happened to have two Kenda KWEST 700x35c tires @ $27 each. I got both for $26! Sweet!!
So my question is, my cyclocomputer is currently calibrated for the old 700x38c tires. Do I need to do another roll-out to get a new circumference or is the difference between 38c and 35c minor enough to just leave the settings as they are? By the looks of the computers' documentation which includes a chart, the difference appears to be negligible.
I look forward to some good cycling community involvement here!
