I'm organizing a 25+ mile ride tomorrow along the path of Tropical Storm Dudley's projected path along the south shore of Suffolk County. We will meet about 10 AM at a beach TBA, that will optimize our exposure to the full force of the Category 5 storm.
A few precautions should be taken.
Wear leather or rubber shoes to keep you from getting grounded in the event you are struck by lightning.
Do not wear a bike helmet as the sound of the rain hitting it may distract you from fully concentrating on the task at hand.
On your right arm below your elbow, use a permanet magic marker to provide the authorities with the following information:
1. Blood type
2. Health Insurance Provider
3. List of organs that you would like to donate to medical science
4. Next of kin
To help prevent rust developing after being inundated by water from the huge waves, spray your entire bike at regular intervals with WD-40.
Dose up on Immodium AD before the ride starts, as the group will not be making any rest stops along the way.
I wish I could join you on this great adventure, but prior committments at a local mental health facility will have me tied up for the da
