Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Did you make any decision on your new trek or not in regards to trying to return it?

Not yet. The manager was supposed to return today but he decided to extend his vacation until Monday. He told me when I bought the bike that he was going to train for a race in a nearby rural area, in a cabin without amenities like phones. I hope I can exchange the bike, even if I have to pay a restocking fee. I think a smaller bike will feel more stable to me. If not, live and learn and learn to enjoy it.
Thanks for asking.

I hope you are able to get it sorted out to your satisfaction. Nothing worse than spending money for something that doesn't work. I love my bike but now seeing some others now I wish i would have waited a bit longer, especially the 2010 Trek Belleville..it makes me drool and so does the Pashley Princess Sovereign

We will always lust after the newest, flashiest, best componentry, best tires, brakes, etc.
Once we buy, we have to be satisfied with our choice, and enjoy it.
The other option is to keep selling and buying until you run out of money........

My case I think i should have done more research outside of Specialized vs Trek. Its not so much the best, flashiest etc its what's best for me. For all I know the Pashley wont work and the Belleville rides like crap.

I think the key here is to have more than one bike. I bought a Hybrid, then quickly wanted to expand my horizons. Now I'm not saying I was disappointed in any way with my hybrid, it is a means to do some of what I like about cycling. I just wanted more and for a cycling "rookie" to even see the pack on a group ride the hybrid was not going to cut it.

My Pashley Guvnor roadster is built of high end Reynolds 531 steel and weighs like a tank. But the ride is like a Cadillac. Plush and luxurious!

I just spoke to the manager, and he said to bring it in so he can see it. If it looks new, he can take it back. The only problem is my aunt who, to my horror, grabbed the bike and promptly rode it on the grass! Grrrr!
