Did a group ride yesterday with the university cycling team/club that I am a member of. Friday is usually the short informal no-drop ride to get people interested in cycling, well only 6 people showed up total so we did a long ride and went quite longer, did 40 miles of pack riding at 22.2 MPH average speed. Never thought I would be able to do that but riding in a pack sure does make a difference

Then today I ended up going for a long ride too with my riding partner, longer than expected since we got lost, clocked 70 more miles today with 6500 feet of climbing, my longest ride to date, yay! The route we took ended up taking us across a very rocky road in a state park so we had to dismount and walk the bikes for about .25-.5 miles which really tore up my cleats =(. But was a lot of fun and now I know I am ready for my first metric that is coming up here in October.

Here are a few pics from the ride today

Thanks =)

I'm ultimately planning for a 150 mile ride, up Historic Route 66 towards Chicago to surprise family with a visit before the cold weather shows up, probably around late October. So looks like i've got some more training to do before then =)
