Below is a few pictures of a new mount a friend of mine made for me. It's design is simple yet effective. The camera and is adjustable in two directions, up and down and left and right. The next version will be lighter but basic design rigidity was the main focus here. Its made out of $3 bar of aluminum, $2 ubolt, Most expensive thing was the appliance paint I used to paint it. The radius cut into the mount is of the actual diameter of the frame.

you plan on adding another camera?

how about one for the helmet as well?

and one for the back to catch licence plates

Very schweet radius cut.
But wonder why the clunkiness (no offense) of a bar sticking out on the LEFT of your bike that could "catch" a tree-limb, door handle/sidemirror or other obstacle when you could mount higher on your helmet.

Also I checked to verify you weren't in the UK or AU. Since you are in Kansas, why the LEFT side? (other comments inferred this was for safety or at least having a video of the car that clips you so your heirs could file suit. :-)

Yes I may add another camera not sure yet. And it sticks out less then my handle bars but enough to clear the cables. And one would need to be wearing a helmet to effectively have a "helmet cam". I sir do not own one. This is not for safety its just hobby to make lil videos of my commutes and such. :-)

are you gonna buy the contour hd?

how good is the resolution on the vholdr, as an aside, can it catch licence plates well?

I would love to get the contour hd but have noticed it has already come down in price, I think patience is the best plan of attack right now. The resolution is pretty good go here for my videos (http://vimeo.com/rivercitycyclist) to see for yourself. keep in mind its a hundred dollar portable camera, it is what it is...
