I been wondering about this one for awhile...

When the guys are completing a TdF climb, are they motivated or annoyed by the all of the spectators crowding the roads, running along side, dumping water on them, and pushing the rider?

Also, are women excluded from the ranks of pro cyclists?

Women would get destroyed by the DIV I male cyclists. Women have their own pro ranks.

In my races I love it when people are loud, I can’t even imagine what it would be like with that many people cheering you on.
The only people being pushed are those like Cipo and the like. Who are 20 min down on the leading riders. So it really doesn’t matter.

Motivated by the crowd....yes (tenfold if you are French...look at Virenque/Moncoutie's performance)
Running alongside.....hate it. Off-putting and dangerous....nobody wants a drunk idiot trying to get on TV crowding them on a monster col.
Dumping water......hate it. If they want a shower, they'll grab the bottle from the spectatuer and pour it over themselves and pass around the group.
Pushing....hate it. If they want a push, they'll swerve towards the crowd a little bit when they think the commissaires aren't watching.

Women have their own pro circuit to race on.
