Folding Bikes - Where Best to Place Lights?

Hi all,
Are the handlebars the default location for bike lights on a folder? Was thinking of getting either Supernova E3 (Assymetrical?) or Schmidt Edelux and thinking that placing them on the forks would be much too low. Thanks.

What is your main reason to put lights on the bike?
1. To see where you ride? Put it on the fork.
2. To be seen by others? Bars.
Maybe get two lights and put one on each?

I like my lights down for seeing where I am going. On one folder I have a Spanningia Luceo (http://www.velo-orange.com/spluledhewst.html) mounted on the brake bolt, on the other I have a B&M Retro mounted on the handlebar pinch bolt. I also use the low center mount on my city bike, lower mount seems to work better for getting the light to the road where you need it.

I put a battery powered light on my visor to increase the chances that the faces I see also see me. There's plenty of light to see the road anywhere in civilization where space would be limited and I would need a folder.

Hrmm...taking into account the responses here (thank you!) and some more thinking:
The current set up is going to be Dinotte 400Ls on helmet and bar (to make sure people see me) and the dynamo light (for seeing the road) will be on the fork then.

Well...there's more:
Reelights for sides. Schwalbe Marathons in part for their reflective sidewalls.
Cateye LD1000 for back and I am seriously considering a dynamo powered light fixed to the rear rack.
I believe in the "bubble of light" theory. :)

Very cool touch to tighted his handlepost hinge down it appears.
I like the Dishwasher hose that he used for rack bumpers as well.

you're right about that - on the handle post it's a kitchen faucet and on the rack it's a gas pipe. very clever indeed......
