Mountain Biking - Help with NC riding

I have three days in Asheville and another three days in Bryson, NC next week. I will be there with my family but should be able to get out to ride every morning. I have the trail books on these areas, but I would like to have the real skinny on which trails to ride to maximize my time. I would like more technical challenge and easy on the scenic routes, heavy on the fun factor. Any comments would be helpful!

Bryson City is easy. You'll want to hit the Tsali Trails. There are 4 trails and they alternate 2 of the trails each day with the equestrian riders. (i.e. watch out for Horse poopy!)

The trails are a lot of fun, not too technical, but really fast and swoopy! (is that a word?)

Asheville is a different story. There are SO many trails there. My favorite is the Fish Hatchery trail which is toward the Brevard side of the park (vs the Ashville side). It's a pretty decent fire-road climb and sweet singletrack descent ending with a wide shallow (and refreshing) stream crossing.

The trails at North Mills river are pretty awesome as well.

If you're staying closer to Asheville, there are some killer trails (can't remember the names) but they're close to the Aubitorium (sp?) on the way to one of the campgrounds.

BTW, I'm jealous!!! Can I hide in the trunk, so I can come too?

The the trip was great, well it's not over yet as I'm in the car heading home now with my son behind the wheel. Six days of riding with both morning & evening rides without pissing off my wife! Road Mill River & Bent Creek in Pisgah and Tsali / several others in Bryson City. Honestly Tsali was ok, but a slight let down after the super trails at Mills River. These flat land legs really got a workout. I'll try to attach a few pics here.

Very Nice! Glad to hear you had a good time and best of all got to do a lot of riding while keeping the wife simpatica.

When we gonna get together for a ride/camping trip??????

BTW, I still haven't mailed you all that Pedro's stuff. I know, I suck!!!! I've got to do a bunch of mailing, so I'll do my best to get to it this week.
