did the tobay ny tri. started good, kept pace on the swim, and was in a good position to win my class or at least top 5. when i came into transition 1 as i took off my wetsuit. my transmitter got attached and ended up in my wetsuit. and not on my leg. so i went on the bike and set a really good pace, when mile 3 came around i looked down.... and there was no transmitter. so i turned around, and flew back got my transmitter, and continued to ride, where at that time my first transition was 15 min. i tried to get back on pace with my ride, but was hard because it was a big blow to my confidence. i passed 9 riders in my class and ended up placing 20 out of i think 38. live and learn i suppose :p

HA My friend did the same thing yesterday! His got caught in his wetsuit except as soon as he got out of transition one of the officials said "wheres your timing chip??" so he left his bike on the fence and ran back and found it in his wetsuit. Only really lost a couple minutes.
I ralphed in the middle of the swim, prob ingested too much seawater, but my bike and run were great. Finished in 1:36 whichw as a minute faster than last year, however I was 4 min faster on the bike and run, but 3 min slower in the swim... ugh!
haha hes lucky. yeah after i got home i knew something was not right, two hours later i got violently ill. had a 102 fever, and threw up two times. felt like total crap that bay is so polluted, i think that was it, but it was a good race, great weather.

The trick is to make sure that the timing chip is tucked underneath the wetsuit during the swim. But this only works if your wetsuit has long enough legs. Second choice is for the timing chip to be below where the suit ends. The worst choice is to strap it over top of the wet suit. :)
