the very same network what claims cycling is not an athletic activity gives a cyclist their best athlete award. hope they don't come crashing down, groin first, possibly with a picket spearing their nethers, into the top of the fence they're trying to stay on both sides of...

When has ESPN claimed that cycling is not an athletic activity? Just curious, I rarely pay attention to ESPN as they don't really cover my two favorite sports - MMA and cycling.

they had one of the obligatory "lance is not an athlete/cycling is not athletic" articles 2 years ago. that's when i stopped visiting their site. and tony kornholer (i lived in d.c. for a while as a hockey fan, so i hate him for a number of reasons) rants about it on that ranting show he does. he thinks race horses should be up for espys, but lance shouldn't be.
