Hey people,

It has been a while since I posted something that wasn't really specific, so I am really praying this is the right section. Anyway I will be in Detroit, Houston, and New Orleans in August and September. I was wondering if there were specific shops you would recommend for renting a bike and places to ride. I am not thrilled about these trips and I am trying to come up with ways to make them more pleasant. Thanks for the info.

Well to answer your question ( at least for the Houston area) I will need to ask one. What part of Houston you plan on staying in?

Up there, should have known. As for riding there are a few places. Given the time of the year, Kingwood is nice for riding as long as it is only during the day. For Mtn biking, there is Huntsville state park, that is up 45 from where you'll be at. I'll put the word out to see about a shop, what kind of bike you wanting to rent (roadie, mtn, hybrid...)

Roadie please. I haven't ridden mtb in quite a while.
