d'oh!!! i was just tricked into visiting ESPN's site. damnit. i've been boycotting them for two years--couldn't stand all the cycling bashing. thanks for spoiling the perfect streak! ;)

i read the quote from LeMond on ESPN..i am assuming they have a long history of bitterness.

Not only Lance has to deal with his own "war", that of the bike racing in the Tour de France, but also has to fight the war ganged up on him by the french press...how low is that!!!

it's kinda like the entire known universe being peeved that US soccer is improving in the international arena. we bash it, we hate it, we pay it no attention, and yet we still dominate it. honestly, if i were french i'd rather have a frenchman being the best ever in my national competition. imagine a cuban team winning the "world" series every year...
