I took off this morning and felt that familiar cool feeling for the first mile or so. It's been so long since that happened I'd forgotten just how it feels. And it felt good to get to the office and cool off quicker too.

My commute this morning was about 40 degrees F. It is a very odd thing to wear cool weather riding gear on a summer day in August, in Iowa.

I'm in the Chicago 'burbs, I'd know just how you feel if I left earlier.

Yup. The last two mornings in the lower 40s has been refreshing, hasn't it?

Let's hope it stays like this until Thanksgiving or so.

Today was the first morning since probably May or June that I have had to wear a long sleeve jersey for the morning commute (it was 63F).

That would be fine by me. I had to dig down into my pile of clothes to find my long sleeved tops and the zip on legs for my pants.

A warm (for the season) dry fall would suit me down to the ground. Good foliage, good weather for doing yard chores and hiking and riding the bike.

It was nice for the 1st 20 min to be cold. Didn't wear long sleeeve or anything else. Nice!!!

Chiming in to say yes to the cool mornings. Low sixties when I left home this AM, and I loved it. Didn't feel cold yet, but it's so nice to ride and not be drenched in sweat after just a mile or two. These commutes are heavenly. :)

I think there were two or three days in this so-called summer when I didn't have that "cool" feeling. Now the weather is back into "cool" feeling, heading fast into the "ass is freezing off" feeling...

Low 60's coming home this morning, 81 going back in to work this evening - heavenly! The only thing that could be better would be if the wind were calm! After a pretty wet summer, maybe we'll have a bit drier fall. I love riding this time of year!

I went out and rode 20 fast miles before work (normal commute is 6). Used about half the water that I would have a week or two ago in the heat.

The downside is that it was way too nice out at 6pm, so lots of people out on the trail.

I had to wear gloves the first time about a week ago. But today was the first day for some lip balm to prevent chapped lips. September, who knew?

It felt good to ride in to work this afternoon, as it was only in the upper 80's.
Much nicer than the usual 100+ temps this time of year!

I won't see 40° until January. Thankfully.

Yeah Joey...we may not be seeing the 40's for awhile.
But, admit it, you GOTTA be diggin' the temps in the 70"s and 80's!
WooHooo!!!!

Heck even the 90's were an improvement!
