Glen ellyn, Illinois. A residential street, not even a through street, broad daylight. Minivan Kills cyclist. Police looking for witnesses or information:
I ride in this area, and would consider any of the non-thoroughfare residential streets good choices for a ride.
I read it that they have the driver of the minivan: "No charges have been filed against the driver at this time, sheriff's police said"

"No further details about the accident have been released pending further investigation. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time, sheriff's police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (630) 407-2400."
I read the complete lack of detail in the reporting (other than the driver stopped and was not charged), combined with the contact number if you knew anything, as a search for witnesses. One more article was published today about the autopsy results, complete lack of detail about how it happened, same contact if you have information tags. No mention of witnesses, just that the minivan was going south and the cyclist was struck. Not even the obligatory "the cyclists was/was not wearing a helmet" blurb. Something is missing here, and I surmise that there is only one story being told, that of the minivan driver who was going south as he ran over a cyclist.
But I could be wrong. Asking for more info could be routine. Crappy reporting could be routine too. Last guy to buy it in my area got a lot more details published about how it happened.
