didnt want a roof rack b/c of cost/wind noise/difficulty of installation/removal and I dont like those typical trunk mounted racks...so this one's kind of a best of both worlds....so we'll see.
Wow - how fast you need to spin those cranks? It looks like that bike wants to try and catch your car at any speed, but that gearing makes me wonder...

I've been looking for a rack like that. I remember seeing a rack similar to that in an issue of Dirt Rag but it was even more simplistic consisting of a bar that strapped to the rear end of the roof and another bar that strapped to the trunk. The reaer wheel as then strapped to the roof bar and the fork mounted to the fork mounts on the trunk baar. cool concept but I can't find any info on this rack at all. Probably didn't work that's why. If you don't mind my asking, how much was it? Thanks!

I got it off of ebay for like $40 new...but... it was missing the 'optional' trunk extender..so I had to pay another $40 for that...but online, they're like 150..so still cheaper.. its a Delta Hunch Rack.
I believe Rhode Gear used to make a similar rack..forgot what it was called though..maybe that's the one you were talking about..
I wish I owned a car so I could buy a bike rack.... Oh wait, no I don't! Cars suck.

Enflite makes (or made) one like that. Mine's about 10 years old. Very versatile. Nice bike, by the way.
how reliable has that audi been for ya?

..pretty reliable.. no big problems, just general maintenance stuff...I changed the timing belt and water pump recently... around 70k..that was a fun job ;) haha.. other than that, I've just done brakes... <knock on wood>
here's a pic of the timing belt job ;) looks worse than it was.

the keg or the pista?
if the keg's weight is a problem, one might think lucklust is a lightweight. based on the follow basic keg lifting mathematics: the more you drink, the lighter the kegs gets. the first portion addresses both the removal of liquid from the keg as well as the beer muscles factor.

I meant the initial post of the bike rack. Parents might be investing in one.

that is awesome... but here is the TRUE test, leave it like that overnight tonight... you know, to test the ...um... durability of the rack and if it will hold your bike up for long periods of time. Then dont look out your window at around midnight tonight.
in an unrelated note... can I have directions to your house from Center City?

yes, lets drive our bikes around...:( blah
Be careful. I've seen those type of racks mess up trunk lids. But then again, it had 2 35 pound bmx bikes on it. It kinda bent the trunk so it didn't look flush when it was closed.

haha.. no! stay away ;)
...and cyclorat, it doesnt happen often... but it does have to happen sometimes.. not many places to mtn. bike in south philly... I doubt the fixed gear will really ever be up there.. it was just a hell of alot lighter than muscling my mtn. bike up there ;)
