That bike goes back to the 80s if I recall correctly.

3 main tubes of aluminum bonded to steel lugs and steel rear triangle.

I rode one for a few months when I was between bikes. The one I was on was flexy, but it has and old school-ish charm to it.

I have a 1989 Raleigh Technium 400. Great bike to train on, robust frame.

My late Viner had parts from a mid-1980's Technium 460 - Sakae crank, Shimano deraileurs, Weinmann brakes, Suntour downtube shifters. Nothing much exciting about the parts. Our LBS owner had a Viner Special Touring, but wanted to try the Technium aluminum frame, so he swapped parts and sold me the Viner. Every time I saw him after that, he'd say "hey, I want my bike back." Guess he didn't think much of the Technium frame.

I tried one out in 1985-86. Found it to be a wet noodle frame.

I'm just getting into cycling, and have a technium 460. The person who sold it to me said it was a 1990, but the serial number looks like a 1984. It has all the components described by "diddidit". Anyways. I'm not experienced enough to rate this bike accurately, but I am enjoying riding it. It has helped introduce me to this fun and addicting activity.

That's pretty much all you need, isn't it? Those components served me well for over 15 years, and are really still in OK condition, for the most part, despite my weighing up to 270 pounds and relying on the built up gunk in the drivetrain for lubrication.
