A while back I purchased a Redline Monocog that comes with a BMX hub. In only a couple of months I have literally trashed and out torqued the cheap ass hubs from literally only tame trail riding. I was hoping if someone here could recommend a durable but not crazy expensive set of hubs. I don't care about 'names'. I am only looking to spend $200 TOPS on a set of new BMX hubs PREFERABLY A LOT LESS.

For stats, I am 5'11, 290lbs, and bought the monocog to lose some weight. I do not do jumps or any crazy stuff (hey, I lost my ability to heal when I turned 30). But I don't want the hubs to be wimpy and under built.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think you can go with about any of the hubs from www.danscomp.com and be reasonably sure you are getting a good thing. I would stay away from most cassette hubs except for the Profiles which are out of your price range (or right at the top of it) anyway.

Is your actual hub trashed or do you just need a new freewheel? What about the hub did you break, hubs are a very rare thing for people to break that I have seen in 17 years of riding. Axles, freewheels, etc. But almost never does the hub go.

If you are using 3/8" axles, then I would recommend the DK Low Flange flip-flop hub and you may want to get a decent freewheel like the AC88 from dans.
