hi kids. i'm a recent convert from mtb'ing - due to my rescuing a garbage bound Raleigh Grand Prix, i'm estimating a '77. i used to be white/black, and although it was pretty rough the frame had very little damage. i'm in the process of restoring it - of course running into a few problems. rusty cables, nonfunctioning front der, and dry rotted tires to start. the bb is shot and needs badly replaced. but the rear hub/cassette is quite and oddity to me. the cassette is a one piece, 5spd, freewheel - but it seems to me that it's part of the hub... although it may just be threaded with some serious thread damage. i can't figure out what make it is, but i'd love to save it. it's in relatively great shape, but is missing what i think is a pawl spring. the chainguard is a Sturmey, but this hub definitely isn't. maybe a suntour?

any advice on any would be great!

Welcome to Bike Forums. You might want to post a photo of your bike in the Classic & Vintage forum, they can help you identify the year. And the Bicycle Mechanics forum can help you with any questions you have about repairing and replacing components.

Welcome to BF.
Stop the Classic & Vintage forum.
They know more about old bikes than anyone on the planet. They also like pics.
