I may ride -- if it doesn't rain. Normally I would ride in the rain but I have a cast on my left hand that shouldn't get wet.

Rowan and I raced the 24-hour in both 2005 and 2006. We both really enjoyed it, and wish there were an event like it here in Australia.
Here's the story of the 2006 event:

Weather was great so I headed down. I had initially signed up for the 12-hour but had emailed about 10 days before that I had a broken hand with a cast on so they let me drop down to the 6-hour. But I ended up riding for only ~3.5 hours (one long loop - 69.7 miles I think - the map on the website is not quite correct). The cast was digging into my forearm on the rougher roads esp. after about 2.5 hours. I tried moving my left arm further forward on the aerobars to relieve it but the position was unbalanced and too stretched out and my neck and shoulders got sore. I enjoyed the riding that I did, though, and will be going back in the future.
