hi there
I'lll be visiting my relatives in Colorada for about 5 days. They live in Loveland, near Fort Collins. Of course I would like to do some cycling when there.
I picked up this sport fairly recently so I'd say I'm a beginner. I can do about 30 - 35 miles, speed is about 13 - 15 miles an hour. I am hoping to do some road cycling - any recommendations? I don't mind cars but of course would prefer a less-busy road.
Thanks
for your experience level, check the PEDAL group out of loveland.
theyre pretty laid back and do some good routes.

theres a ton of options here (i live in FC but work in Loveland), but many of the best require sustained climbing. and just about everything out here is gonna include more rolling hills than youre used to in nyc. and of course our air is gonna be thinner than youre used to.
i say this as someone who moved here for Chicago and took a while to adjust. not to be discouraging, but just be prepared to take it easy. Good luck. i'm happy to answer any more specific questions.

Fort Collins, has gotta be one of the best places for cycling in the country. Every road has a bike lane, with maybe one exception. My sister lives there and I visit as frequently as possible, riding in the mountains there is incredible. I live in Miami and am very envious.
FC has a great trail system that triangulates the city, consisting of the poudre river trail, and the spring creek trail, onthe west side of town you can connect the SW end of spring creek trail with the NW end of poudre trail via overland trail road, a big open stretch of road with lightish traffic and giant bike lane.
loveland has a nice trail that follows the big thompson for several miles and starts at the SW side of town, near 1st ave and wilson, and crosses over all the way up to and around boyd lake on the NE side of town.
you can get trail maps for both towns at most bike shops in the area and REI FC.
