Mountain Biking - ooooohhhh, I want one of these! Fox 36

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

a2,
Sounds like the ticket for the SX.
Any idea about the internals? Air/oil, I presume?
After riding dual crowns for all these years, I'm afraid that my size (230 lb) and style (mostly out of control) would be too much for single crowns.

that thing is sweet. Too bad my riding style would lend me more towards a road bike instead of a freeride bike when i get my next ride

I think you'd be suprised with the newer forks. You should give the Shermans, Zokes, or wait for that fox

I don't doubt the newer single crowns are much better than, say, my old Mag 21 SL ti's ;) , but I don't see how *any* single crown fork could attain the torsional stiffness of my '01 Jr. T's, even with a 20mm axle (which is not an option for me at this time, anyhow).

They are air. I believe based on Talas (thats the extent of my knowledge)
Gast,I am a hefty rider and run a 02jrT standard QR, dj2 qr20 (steel stanchions and steerer) and an 02 z1. The stiffest fork is easily the dj2 :)
Now compared than to the newer dc's...yeah the dc's are stiffer and some almost the same weight. Personally for me it is confidence. I look down at a sc fork and ride xc. I look down a dc fork I go fast :D Its all mental for me.

Even the little pic :D...
I am looking used. If I come accross one that is my next purchase for the bighit. Until then I will have to be happy with my kickass bike :D
