I'm interested in replacing the steel fork on my CX bike with a carbon one. Full carbon is preferred, but not mandatory. So far the only two I've come up with are Alpha Q and Wound-Up. Is there anyone else out there making such a thing?

Recommend you don't bother with it unless your existing fork is awful. You won't lose a whole lot of weight unless you go to full carbon, and there aren't that many options. Plus you risk messing up the handling of the bike if the fork you fit has the wrong rake. Save the money and spend it on tubs or race entry fees :)

I think winwood makes one, but it is not light, 800grams

Yeah, I said that I preferred full carbon, and I know how the hell a fork works. Why even post this?

Thanks, I found that one. I'll definitely steer clear of any 800g fork.

looks like alpha Q is the way to go if it fits the bike well

man it is hard to fork over that cash though

No, I had a Gunnar Roadie for years, but never a Cross-Hairs. I had an old Cannondale cyclocross bike which cracked, and then I wasn't really serious about cyclocross so I rode a Cross-Check and then bought one of those Rob Roy group buys.

I just picked up a Hot Tubes on eBay and I'm wondering how I can shave off a pound or so, but honestly I'm not too worried about it. It's more like "what fork should I possibly be searching for on eBay in the middle of next summer when I can pay like $50 for it."
