Hi y'all,
I need a rear drop bolt for an older Campagnolo Record rear brake. These seem to be very expensive (around $60), and I was wondering if there there is a cheaper alternative. I think Dia Compe makes or made them, but I haven't been able to find one. If I can't find a cheaper drop bolt I'll just have to go with 27" wheels. Thanks for your ideas.
A Campagnolo one just went for $76 on ebay! Dia Compe made them, but you see those even less often. I don't know of another elegant solution to replace a dropbolt unless you're a machinist....
Someone should make some more!

If you are lucky, I have seen from time to time Campagnolo caliper sets on ebay where the bolt was not mentioned, but has been an effective way to purchase one without paying full freight.
Not an impossible pc. to machine, but you either have to start with a big hunk of metal and do an extra set up or braze in one of the studs. Then chrome the monster, or start with stainless.
Unless one has a programmed set up, the $60. price is actually reasonable for the work.
Back in the day they went for $15. new.
